Best Hotels in Baghdad

There are several hotels in Baghdad that bill themselves as the best. However, there are only a select few that live up to the high standards of the most stringent guests. You will not find the Hilton or Ritz Carlton in Baghdad, but you will find the luxurious hotels that you need for your next stay!

The only hotel that is in the green zone is the Al Rasheed Hotel. It is a great hotel that is visited by many journalists and news media members. The eighteen story property has something to offer just about everyone. CNN even had several news broadcasts from inside the hotel during several military actions. However, the Al Rasheed is also well know for the tile mosaic on the floor of President George Bush. Soldiers were angry that the Iraqi's put it on the floor, and replaced the mosaic with one of Saddam Hussein.

The Al Hamra is another hotel suggested for people staying in Baghdad. The hotel is a five star property with many of the benefits of living at your own home. All rooms are generously furnished and are quite beautiful. The Al Harma is an all suite hotel, with several different types of suites to choose from. You can stay in a studio suite, or the extremely elegant and two story presidential penthouse suite. Prices at the Al Harma are very reasonable, and fluctuate depending on when you decide to visit the hotel.

There are other hotels in Baghdad, however, they are not considered to be safe. Many hotels are not yet secured, and are often filled with crime. You may find yourself out of luck and extremely disadvantaged if you do not stay in pre-approved hotels by the United States government. Be very careful when choosing your lodging!

Both the Al Rasheed and the Al Hamra hotels offer luxury and elegance. Whether you are looking for a simple hotel room, or a deluxe suite, Baghdad has a hotel for you. Make sure to choose your hotel wisely, as some unsecured hotels may be extremely dangerous for non-locals to stay at!
